After obtaining a Masters of Law, a Bachelor of Law, and a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Technology Sydney, Wayne was admitted to practise as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia in 2006. His commitment to continuous professional development is evident through his qualifications as an Independent Children Lawyer, a Nationally Accredited Mediator, and a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. Furthermore, Wayne has been a registered Migration Agent since 2010. Wayne’s legal career began at the Aboriginal Legal Service in Redfern, where he played a pivotal role at the Mt Druitt Local Court. His work in addressing domestic violence and drug addiction profoundly impacted the community, earning him a Certificate of Appreciation from the Chief Magistrate of New South Wales. Before his legal career, Wayne held significant positions in various industries. He worked as Operations Director of DoCS (FACS) and served in senior management at the Commonwealth Bank. His career commenced at Citibank, where his leadership in telemarketing and retention strategies earned him national accolades. Beyond the corporate realm, Wayne has a strong background in social work, holding a Diploma in Welfare Studies and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Newcastle University. His work in drug rehabilitation, youth services, and mental health reflects his lifelong dedication to social justice. Wayne also contributed as a TAFE teacher in Conveyancing, Legal Practice, and Call Centre Management. Wayne’s recent legal efforts have focused on assisting refugees, including facilitating a successful refugee status application for a Syrian client amidst the ISIS crisis.
