In 1991, he joined Potts Latimer Solicitors as a Litigation lawyer before co-founding Clinch Neville Long, which evolved into Long Saad Woodbridge. Clayton's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law from the Australian National University, and a Master of Law from Sydney University. Admitted as a solicitor in 1989, his work has propelled LSW to be ranked among the best law firms in 2018 and 2019 by Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Market.
