Dan O'Keefe

Dan O’Keefe brings over 38 years of legal expertise as the principal solicitor at DP O’Keefe Macquarie Law, which he established in 1997. As an accredited business law specialist, Dan has built a reputation for his extensive knowledge in business law and diverse non-litigation legal matters including real estate transactions, leasing, mortgages, franchising, and taxation. His practice extends to family law, covering parenting and property settlements, as well as wills and estates. Admitted as a public notary by the Supreme Court of NSW in 1992, Dan also serves as a registered Family Dispute Resolution Provider and is accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation System. His mediation career, initiated in 1995, has seen him facilitate resolutions in a broad range of disputes, from building and employment to deceased estates and workers compensation. He continues to contribute his skills as a mediator and facilitator at Centacare Bathurst since 1995, providing family dispute resolution and relationship programs. Dan's legal journey began at Nelson Keane & Hemingway, where for 16 years he undertook a wide variety of legal work including civil, criminal litigation, and commercial matters. His commitment to legal education is demonstrated through his role as a lecturer at TAFE NSW from 1984 to 1996. Educated at UNSW with a Bachelor of Commerce and Law, Dan further honed his skills through specialist programs in business law and mediation. Balancing his professional commitments, he remains engaged with the legal community while fostering practical solutions for his clients.
